High speed on the road to nowhere
So we’re getting fast, shiny new thinking boxes at work at long last. I just finished placing the order with Dell earlier today. One would think I’d be quite enthused at the prospect of working with a bunch of new computers, but it just seems like a lot of work right now. A lot of oysters and no pearls, as the song goes.
Speaking of music, in the interest of keeping myself occupied I’ll be playing an open mic night for the first time since December of 2001 tonight, this time with my partner in crime, Emmett. Interested parties are welcome to see us at The Artful Dodger starting at 9pm, just down from Xando off of the Society Hill end of South Street. I might even play a few obscure covers myself.
Strange how long it’s been since I’ve played in public. I’ve been in a real musical funk lately, and no wonder since I’m basically listening to the same stuff I was listening to back then, with only one or two notable additions. Popular radio just makes me want to puke my guts out, and WPRB has been kinda lacklustre lately I’ve thought, so I haven’t been hearing too much new stuff. As of last night I have a couple new things to listen to courtesy of Sam, however. Hopefully something there will catch my ear, cause baby, I want a new drug.
